जब कोई व्यक्ति , संस्था या समुह अपने से जुड़ी निजी जानकारी किसी भी प्रकार से किसी को खुलासा नहीं करना चाहता है उसे कानुनन‌ अधिकार है कि वह अपनी निजी जीवन से संबंधित जानकारी को गुप्त रख सकता है यह उसका कानुन‌न अधिकार है जो किसी प्रकार से उसे वंचित नहीं किया जा सकता है।

इसप्रकार निजता में जीवन के सभी महत्त्वपुर्ण पहलुओं का समावेश है यह एक विस्तारीत आयाम है जिसको शब्दों की सीमा में बांधना सुरज को दीपक दिखाने के समान है ।इस प्रकार यह महत्वपुर्ण अवधारणा स्वशासन की आधार शिला है।

निजता का हनन करना या निजता पर प्रतिबंध लगाना एक व्यक्ति को मानसिक रूप से पंगु बना सकता है और भावानात्मक रुप से अपाहिज कर सकता है ।इस प्रकार निजता का अधिकार एक व्यक्ति की गरीमा पुर्ण अस्तित्व का प्रतिविंब है ।निजता के अधिकार को कटघरे में खड़ा करना मानवीय गरीमा लांछन लगाता है।इस प्रकार निजता मानव से जुड़ी वह अवधारणा है जो उसे स्वतंत्र चयन का अधिकार प्रदान करती है ।वारेन‌ जो एक दार्शनिक थे उनके अनुसार निजता पर हमला एक व्यक्ति को कानुनी ओर मानसिक क्षति करता है।

जब reporting verb प्रशनवाचक हो तो निम्न लिखित तीन परिवर्तन होंगे।

1.reporting verb asked में बदलेगी

2.conjuction if/whether लिखा जायेगा

3.interrogative sentence affirmative sentence में लिखा जायेगा।
